Amazon.com Product Description
Bubbly root beer float? Creamy vanilla shake? Extra-thick chocolate chip malt? Recreate classic diner desserts--or get creative and invent new favorites--at home with Anchor Hocking’s soda fountainware. Sold in a set of 12, the clear crystal glass vessels feature tall sculpted bowls with panel-cut sides perched on heavy footed bases, just like those found on the Formica counters of the original restaurants. Simply add ice cream, toppings, and a straw, and you’re ready to indulge (perhaps to the tunes of the new fad, Rock and Roll?). The glasses are dishwasher-safe and made in the U.S.

Breakage3
I am happy with the product itself...however,
out of the 12 glasses that were ordered, 4 glasses were shattered all over the box. I salvaged 8 glasses and didn't pursue the damages with the company. Very poorly packed...only separated by the cardboard dividers...no extra packing paper was added...I was surprised that the delivery person would even deliver a package that was rattling with broken glass because there was so much of it and it was so obvious.
Excellent Quality, Excellent Buy: But Why is Amazon the Only Retailer to Stock Soda Fountain Malt Glasses?5
Perhaps you too have noticed the proliferation of martini glasses and other forms of retro-is-back stemware offered by bed, bath & kitchen retailers. Nevertheless there are a few things that are nearly impossible to find through traditional retail channels. These old fashioned soda fountain malt/sundae glasses certainly qualify. Why they have all but disappeared from retail shelves ---- even the stock-everything-under-the-sun Walmart ---- beats me. Sure they harken back to the 1950s (and even earlier). But does it ever go out of fashion to serve your ice cream and soda deserts in style? Not in my book. These are stylish and classy. Glass tumblers and ceramic cereal/soup bowls doubling as ice cream and soda fountain servingware are not.
These are heavy, commercial quality glasses. I am thankful that Amazon offers them, and at a great price too. Unfortunately, the second item that nobody stocks offline anymore is a necessary accompaniment when serving a thick malt: Iced Tea Spoons. These Anchor Hocking Soda Fountainware glasses, which stand seven inches tall, are a perfect match for iced tea spoons with their elongated handles. Bed, Bath & Beyond doesn't stock them. Macys doesn't offer them. And ironically enough, the flatware market king, Oneida, doesn't even appear to manufacture them. Again, Amazon to the rescue. Buy 'em both while you still can and you too can host your own ice cream social. Retro has never been so cool!
